The Tavistock Trust For Aphasia

CHARITY GOLF DAY

In 2003, Robin Tavistock hosted the first Charity Golf Day to support the work of the TTA. This has become an annual event. It is played on the Marquess Course, which opened in 2000 and is often referred to as ‘stunning’, ‘a jewel’ and a ‘glorious walk over 18 of the best holes in the United Kingdom’.

It is a fun day. Twenty to twenty five teams play, made up of family and both old and new friends, as well as organisations. The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia is part of Robin’s living legacy and as such this is a day both for remembering him and celebrating all that has been achieved by the TTA.

The form of play is ‘Team Stapleford’, with the best two scores on each hole to count, except on the par three holes when it is the best three scores. Each entrant’s official handicap must be declared on the entry form.

The day begins with breakfast at 08.30, refreshments are served at the halfway house and after the rounds a buffet is served followed by the presentation of the prizes and a charity raffle. The day finishes by 17.00.
